Systems & Business ProcessSr. Program Manager The Team's mission is to build and operate the most efficient, global Internet-scale services platform with the broadest and most profitable advertiser and developer ecosystem. The environment includes configuration, customization & deployment of internal and 3rd party applications, custom applications development (including web and non-web based client/server oriented apps, data warehouse & reporting applications, data interfaces, etc.), covering multiple business areas including sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
The Group is seeking to engage a Sr. Program Manager to lead the development and implementation of new applications and enhancements to existing applications that provide critical Security and Compliance functionality for the Microsoft Online Services Business. Responsibilities for this position will include:- Conduct a thorough analysis of the applications identified in the table below. Analysis may include but not be limited to identification and definition of current functionality, architecture, status, risks, assessment of existing documentation, gap analysis, resource requirements, onboarding requirements and production support requirements.-
]Create documentation to define requirements, project strategy and execution plan. Documentation may include but not be limited to Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, Design Documents, Project Plans, Production Support Plans, Operations Guides and Status Reports.- Program Manage day-to-day activities associated with the identified applications:- Monitor communication and interaction between business users and dev/Tier2 ensuring that a timely response is provided to business questions and issues-
Facilitate setting appropriate priority to business requests – when needed - taking into account the available capacity - Ensure that the team follows proper process while implementing any changes in production (code fixes/configuration changes/hard ware changes)- Refine the process as and when needed to ensure efficiency of operation- Manage issues and risks- Produce weekly updates to ESBP management and business users outlining the work that the team has performed, KPI’s (if applicable), issues & risks and overall status- Program Manage minor releases and upgrades:- Drive the release from project initiation through delivery, interfacing with business users and dev team- Elicit and refine business / system requirements-
Conduct gap analysis if needed- Perform systems analysis and produce functional specification-
Manage issues & risks related to the release- Ensure proper SDLC process is followed and required signoffs obtained- Produce weekly updates to ESBP management and business users outlining the progress of the projectThe ideal candidate for this position will have:- Proven success in driving the delivery of critical enterprise business systems.- Advanced knowledge and experience utilizing formal project management practices. PMP certification is preferred.- Solid technical knowledge of Microsoft development environment including .NET 2.0/3.0, SQL Server 2005, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture.- Current knowledge of security issues, auditing practices and remediation strategies associated with large-scale online businesses.-
Ability to grasp complex business problems and assimilate efficient solutions quickly.-
Demonstrated expertise in requirements analysis, definition and documentation- Ability to develop detailed functional specifications, cost plans, charters, risk management and change management plans.- Exceptional customer relationship skills.- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships in a cross functional software engineering environment- Ability to drive business value, define, develop and manage business relationships, recognize and adjust appropriately for political constraints and opportunities, and effectively own each of the four primary program management responsibilities: scope, cost, time and quality.- Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with business partners, operate in and recover quickly from conditions of uncertainty, and communicate with a sufficient level of confidence to ensure a productive two way flow of information.- Successful experience in a lightweight, Agile SDLC and execution model-
