Position Overview
Join a global player in the consumer products business and help them determine where they should be marketing, and how.
The role:
Support market research needs of corporate marketing, which is in turn supporting dozens of separate business units. The market research analyst will work on both team and individual projects that will require direct client interaction, and also will coordinate other internal and external resources as needed. You will be looked upon as a subject matter expert in the areas of research analytics, survey and statistical software, data/information gathering and analysis, and will guide clients on the effective use of research analytics.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:
80% Project Management (Billable)
Analyze and interpret data using a wide range of applications from crosstabs to multivariate methods.
Use survey and statistical software to perform analysis and/or direct external vendors to produce relevant analysis.
Participate in the design and implementation of effective research methodologies.
Prepare recommendations and conclusions based on survey findings. Work with team to prepare easy to understand summary reporting.
Design and implement surveys and questionnaires as needed.
Mine secondary data to produce market analysis, trends, opportunity forecasting, etc.
20% Other (Unallocated)
Participate in the department’s marketing & sales efforts
Help the department achieve objectives identified in its 3-year business plan
Initiate and strengthen relationships with BU marketing personnel and cultivate new business opportunities; help build a network of market research practitioners peers across the company; share best practices with business units and platforms
Develop/learn/apply new research tools on behalf of business unit clients (e.g. online surveys)
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant analytical research experience (MBA preferred)
Advanced understanding of experimental design, sample, statistics, modeling and analysis of large data sets.
Skilled in a broad range of quantitative methodologies
Ability to create and adapt research methods to fit business needs. Experienced in both business-to-business and business-to-consumer applications with heavy emphasis on business-to-business applications.
Strong knowledge of SPSS, SAS or other analytical tools
Experience with market analysis, market segmentation, customer loyalty and value management, product/service concept testing and communications testing.
Expert skills in Excel and other database management tools
Proven ability to analyze and synthesize secondary market data
Proven independent project management skills
Strong analytical skills combined with ability to implement
Detail oriented, creative and flexible
Ability to work in a cross-functional, team environment
Proven written and oral communication skills
Ability to quickly understand core issues facing a business
Desired background/expertise:
Experience in managing outside service providers
Client relationship and account management skills
